The hegemony of the Drug Barons of began with the Rockefeller-I.G. Farben conspiracy.

According to John Le Carré ' the biggest more powerful economic emporium in Germany was I.G. Farben' -which means Industrial Colors Society (Industrie Gesellschaft Farben)- which grouped BASF, Bayer, Hoechst and other pharmaceutical companies.

Le Carré points out that the Farben group was the greatest contributor to Adolph Hitler's campaign and the group soon was the maximum beneficiary of Germany 's conquests, during World War II. (1, 2)

In the book ' The great medical fraud' Hans Ruesch (1992), famous medical historian doctor, exposed the massive corruption in the medical, scientific, industrial, governmental and news media, generated by the 'Drug Barons'. (3,4)

In the aforementioned work is described how the Rockefeller Empire- built under the foundations of Standard Oil - at the beginning of the last century became involved in the pharmaceutical business.

This dynasty -began with William Avery Rockefeller- generated fabulous dividends in its beginnings, with the sale of fraudulent medicines, bottled as 'miraculous cures' for cancer and others pathologies. (5, 6)

This sinister character was indicated for rape, horse theft, fire and falsification. He was also a bigamist during 34 years, under the false name of William Levingston. (5, 6)

In his manuscript, Ruesch, also narrates the way in which the pharmaceutical industry assumed control over hospitals, universities and research institutes at the beginning of the 20 th century.

Ruesch also chronicles that the 'Drug Monopoly' was conformed by an alliance between the two greatest cartels at the time in the world: the Rockefeller Empire and the German chemical conglomerate...'I.G. Farben '. (7)

At the onset the profits generated by the sale of pharmaceuticals were exponential, reaching the figure of 10 billion dollars by 1948.

According to the Voltaire network 'After Rockefeller's Standard Oil (today Exxon), the second largest conglomerate of the world during the first half of the XX century was the pharmaceutical and petrochemical group IG Farben with its headquarters in Germany. This conglomerate of companies was the main factor that explained the ascent of Hitler to power and its invasion of Europe and the world. In fact, World War II was a prepared war of aggression, begun and directed by the planning counsels at IG Farben. This was the first company of IG Auschwitz, the greatest industrial plant owned by this industrial cartel outside Germany .' (4)

According to Ruesch, "I.G. Farben "was accused of violating human rights during World War II to operate the colossal Auschwitz chemical plant, with the enslaved Jews' manual forced labor. (9)

In that concentration camp, about 300.000 workers were exploited to the point were 25.000 of them died. Others were used as guinea pigs and assassinated in macabre experiments. (8, 10)

According to the Voltaire' network 'Great part of the cartel's wealth was accumulated with the blood and the suffering of the slaves who worked in their factories, including those of the Auschwitz concentration camp. IG Farben supported and used without scruple, the German political governors with its powerful arms, with the purpose of achieving economic supremacy over all of Europe and the rest of the world'. (4)

It is well-known that twelve of I.G. Farben's top executives were sentenced to prison by the Nuremberg trial, due to crimes against the humanity. (11)

Hoechst and Bayer, two of the world's greatest pharmaceutical companies of were ramifications of the questioned I.G. Farben.

Bayer, born out of I.G. Farben, had not only patented Aspirin®, for which it is well-known, but it also patented, promoted and commercialized "Heroin®" on a great scale; reason for which it was also notorious. According to the a 1902 edition of the 'Sunday Times', Heroin® represented 5% of Bayer's global sales (12).

Soon, Bayer was forced to give up the "Heroin" trademark as a result of the Versailles Treaty, in 1919, when Germany lost World War I. (13, 14)

Another part of this chilling history has in September of 1955, Ruesch narrates, Hoechst designating Friedrich Jaehne, a military convicted Nuremberg war criminal, as President of its Board of Directors. A year later, Bayer named Fitz-ter Meer, another military convicted war criminal, as President of its Board of directors. (12, 13, 15)

The Voltaire network states 'IG Farben was the main shareholder in Rockefeller's Standard Oil and vice versa' At that moment, the Allied Forces' victory over Nazi Germany ended IG Farben plans' of becoming the most important pharmaceutical and petrochemical conglomerate of the world. At the same time, Standard Oil and the other pharmaceutical and petrochemical companies of the Rockefeller group became the dominant financial group of this industry, and since then have held this position of leadership." Concerning IG Farben, hardly 15 years after it's directors were condemned in Nuremberg for war crimes, its constitutive companies - Bayer, BASF and Hoechst - sadly, conformed in 1962 the governing Commission for the Codex Alimentarius. (16)
