Osteoarthrosis (OA), also denominates osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative disease with a multifactor origin, which affects those joints which bear weight, such as knees, hips, vertebral column as well as the small joints in the hands.
It is considered the most frequent rheumatoid disease, its incidence increases with age. It is estimated that close to 89% of the population over 50 have radiological changes that suggest OA although not all of them are symptomatic.
This pathology reduces in great measure the quality of life and productivity in these people. Pain, the inflammation, deformation, rigidity and the limitation of joints which are associated to it, these symptoms appear through a gradual destruction of the joint's cartilage, the wear and tear of joints and the impossibility of regenerating the cartilage with the passage of time.
The treatment offered by allopathic medicine for Osteoarthrosis includes NSAIDs (Non Steroid Anti-Inflammatory drugs) which produce benefits on the short run, by alleviating pain and rapidly reducing the inflammation but without regenerating the joint cartilage.
On the contrary, when used for long periods, they inhibit the cartilage's regeneration, favoring its destruction and accelerating the progression of the disease and causing multiple and severe side effects in a high percentage of patients with: dizziness, urticaria, pruritus, bronco spasms, angioedema, hypotension, tinnitus, hipoacusis, vertigo, hyporeflexia, edema, neutropenia, agranulocytosis, aplastic or hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, eosinophilic pneumonia, alopecia, multiform erythema, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, epidermolysis, photosensitivity, cefalea, insomnia, concentration difficulties, fatal hepatitis, acute renal insufficiency, nephritic syndrome, haematuria, visual alterations, vasculitis, aseptic meningitis, which among others are enough reasons for pulling out of the market many of the anti-inflammatory synthetic pharmaceutical COX-2 inhibitors.
Artritina is a systemic formula which not only counters pain and inflammation, but it stops or slows down joint degeneration, modifying the path of this disease. Some of the components of this formula are: Glucosamine Sulfate and C hondroiti n , Glycyrrhiza glabra , Uncaria tomentosa (Cat's claw) , Harpagophytum procumbens , Curcuma longa and Morinda citrifolia (Noni) . The adaptogens in the Artritina formula act synergically, restituting the organic equilibrium by diminishing the system's entropy or disorder.
To verify the effectiveness of Artritina in patients with Osteoarthritic knees, a 3 month prospective study was undertaken at the Rehabilitation center of the Venezuelan Social Insurance Institute. Its conclusions were:
Patients' Quality of life improvement: 100%
Pain improvement: 100%
Absence of morning stiffness : 82.8%
Improvement in joints' functionality: 96.6% also 72.4% of patients reduced the use of analgesics.
In lieu of these results, Artritina has become the first choice treatment for patients with Osteoarthrosis.
