Rheumatoid arthritis is characterized by a symmetrical inflammation of several joints and morning rigidity. It is present in 1-2 % of the population, especially women. In some patients it occurs with light symptoms but, in the majority, it quickly progresses until it leads to disability.

Systemic Medicine maintains that the main cause of the chronic degenerative diseases is organic disorder (entropy) that occurs through the negative alteration of the Biological Intelligence, regulator of all functions. Atypical infectious agents, such as Mycoplasma and toxic agents (like many medicines), can alter the Immune Intelligence, triggering a self-destroying reaction in the joints.

The conventional rheumatoid arthritis treatment includes anti-inflammatory drugs such as cortisone derivatives and other synthetic medicines that alleviate the symptoms but do not cure the disease.

On the other hand, they can produce gastrointestinal complications, sudden death, myocardium infarct, unstable angina, cerebral-vascular accidents, peripheral thrombosis and other important indirect effect.

In the Adaptogen Centers and Medical Units we indicate adaptogens that stimulate cellular Intelligence and improve structure and function of the affected joints (its Organization). On the protocol emphasis must be given to several plants that diminish the entropy and provide the same effect as synthetic anti-inflammatory, but which do not produce adverse effects. The plants are, such as: Harpagophytum procumbens (Devil’s Nail), Morinda citrifolia (Noni), Hydrastis canadensis, Tribulus terrestris and Uncaria tomentosa (Cat’s Nail). These plants, in correct combination with other natural products that increase cellular Energy, will produce lightening of symptoms, improvement in the treatment of the disease as well as a dramatic improvement in the quality of life of the patients who suffers rheumatoid arthritis. This was described in the recent “1rst International Systemic Medicine Congress".
