This event, organized by the University of Yacambú (in Barquisimeto), had among other the participation of representatives from the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO), the Venezuelan Health Ministry, the Network of Venezuelan Scientific Societies, Venezuelan Society of Public health, the Board of Doctors of Lara State, as well as several universities: Centro-Occidental, Carabobo, Andes, Oriente, Zulia, Catholic, Central, UNEFA, UPEL, CENDES; and Health related institutions such as: Barquisimeto's Rotary Hospital, the Venezuelan Red Cross, Ascardio and IAESP.
The presentations of Drs. Magarici and Amendola caused an excellent impression in the public present, due to their high standard and scientific content. The questions and answers session was -once more - characterized by the increased and intense rivalry between conventional medicine and alternative and complementary medicine. Various questions from the audience allowed Drs. Magarici and Amendola to expand on the differences between alternative and complementary medicines -and their therapeutic approaches- and Systemic Medicine; and to position the Systemic approach as an Evidence Based Medicine.
