The great majority of people who suffer sexual problems do not seek advice because they do not have the professionals whom to confer with, or ignore that their problem has a solution.

'According to statistics, 43% of women and 32% of men present some sexual problem. Based on this and through investigations, the Spanish sexologist Francisco Cabello Santamaría carried out a series of conferences under the auspices of the Puerto Rican Association of Education, Advise and Sexual Therapy in San Juan .

A sexual dysfunction implies a bad relationship with the companion and a depressive state of mind which is projected to their children, family and work. The great majority of people who suffer sexual problems do not seek advice because there are no professionals to whom confer with or because they simply ignore that their problem has an answer. It is more frequent in women than in men, because they (the women) assume with resignation anorgasmy and genital pain' observed the specialist whom is also director of the Andaluz Institute of Sexology and Psychology.

One of his proposals -to this issue- is a combination of medicines and sexual therapy. 'I believe in a combination model of treatments in which we use pharmacological tool along with sexual therapy because they produce more results in the treatment of sexual dysfunction' he observed.

The first day was initiated with the conference entitled 'Integral treatment of the erectile dysfunction' which was pursued the next day with the conference 'Sexual health from the multi and inter-discipline perspective' and concluded with 'Primary medicine perspective on the treatment of erectile dysfunction'.

'On one side I will dedicate time to the new advances in the treatment of sexual dysfunction and on the other to the necessary elements for the formation of new professionals in sexual health, making emphasis on the great need to tackle and manage this issue' stated Francisco Cabello Santamaría.

The key to this dysfunction prevention was attributed by the expert to an early age education. 'Many a problem is generated by the lack of education. One of the big problems is the perception of a lack of desire in women, when the truth is that in some cases their companion is not the right yearning inductor' pointed out the sexologist.

Concerning the erectile dysfunction, the expert mentioned that between 10% and 20% of males at a fertile age confront this problem. 'The reason may be organic or psychological. Hypertension, disorder of lipids and diabetes contribute to the existence of vascularization issues and the appearance of erection problems. Also frequent are the effects of anxiety of performance were culture provides the benchmark of how must the penis perform' concluded the clinical researcher.
